Kisii town Bodaboda operators today clashed with county askaris, chased them and removed barricades and signage near governor James Ongwae’s offices to pave way for them to operate within Kisii Town’s Central Business District ( CBD).

Led by Senator Chris Obure, the operators officials went to County Commissioner, Samuel Njora’s office where they demanded that the county government stop barring them from operating within Barclays Bank and governor’s offices stretch.

Obure, accompanied by Mps- Richard Tong’I, Nyaribari  Chache, Simon Ogari, Bomachoge Chache, Joel Onayncha, Bomachoge  Borabu, Elijah Moindi, Nyaribari Masaba, Zebedeo Opore, Bonchari, Mary Otara, county,  nominated Senator, Hoses Ochwangi  and former CIC Chairman, Charles Nyachae said it was wrong for the county government to close the international road for the operators.

“ Every person has a right to do legal businesses to generate income to carter for their families. We have opened the road and we do not expect anybody to close it for the boda boda operators” noted Obure.

He said the leaders, who met the operators were concern that the askaris harassed them and damaged their  bodabodas in abid to thwart them from accessing the CBD, risking the lives of their pillion passengers.
