The hearing of a case in which former CEO with National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Richard Kerich and four others are charged with defrauding the institution over Sh 116.9 million has adjourned until June 26.
Trial magistrate Lawrence Mugambi of Milimani Anti-Corruption Court directed the case to be heard for three days from June 26 up to 29 without further delay with NHIF secretary Lucy Rono expected to testify in the case.
Earlier the prosecution led by senior state counsel Njagi Nderitu expunged some controversial evidence of emails from the case.
The prosecution made the decision after the defence protested that they had not been supplied with a crucial emails which they said are important in the case.
Nderitu asked the court to direct the case to proceed for hearing saying the defence is trying to delay the case by asking copies of emails and their attachments which the prosecution doesn’t have and they are not intending to use them during the hearing ofthe case.
