Nakuru County is mourning the death of the second MCA Samuel Karanja, the London Ward Representative who died on Wednesday night after a short illness.
His death came barely a week after his counterpart of Hell’s Gate passed on due to Covid-19 complications where on his burial ceremony, on Saturday in Naivasha, was his last public appearance.
“Once again Nakuru has been robbed another of its committed and hardworking ward representatives. It is a sad day. On behalf of the assembly, I wish to send our message of condolences to his family and the people of London Ward,” said Mr Kairu, the Nakuru Assembly Speaker.
Nakuru Assembly Speaker Joel Kairu on 19th Thursday confirmed that Samuel Karanja died after a short illness while undergoing treatment at the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital. He described the late Karanja as a selfless, committed and active ward representative.
Some of the counterparts in Nakuru mourned him saying good messages about the late MCA including the Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing on of Mr Karanja. The MCA had a unique responsibility of representing a highly multi-ethnic ward, which gave him a broader and more balanced political approach. He was an honest and hardworking leader who displayed a great zeal in resolving his constituents’ problems,” Mr Kinyanjui, Nakuru Governor mourned.
Nakuru Jubilee Party Secretary-General Peter Mtumishi Cheruiyot described the death as a huge loss to the county’s residents and the party saying that they have lost the most dependable and committed leader.
“My sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in eternal peace,” stated Mr Cheruiyot.
