The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mr. Richard Ngatia extended his warm wishes to the Hindu as they celebrated Diwali on his Twitter account.
Diwali is one of the most awaited festivals in Hindu calendar. It is a festival of lights and is associated with the legend of Lord Ram, which is symbolic of victory, righteousness, and the alleviation of spiritual darkness.
A representative feature of Diwali is the spectacular show of fireworks and crackers. This year, however, the Hindu Council of Kenya advised against the use of fireworks (that are prohibitively expensive) and has instead urged faithful to “share the light” with the less fortunate by donating to charity.
” I wish to extend my warm wishes to my Hindu brothers and sisters on this auspicious occasion of Diwali. May the warmth and splendour that are part of this occasion fill your life with happiness and bright cheer and bring you joy and prosperity for the year ahead. I wish you and your family a Happy Diwali,” read his message.
Diwali is a five-day festival that started on 14th November expected to end this week.
