Kenya on Monday recorded 102 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 35,205, Health CAS Rashid Aman confirmed.
This was from a sample of 2,668 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative tests to 477,145.
Aman confirmed that all were Kenyans except nine who were foreigners.
For the first time, the number of males and females testing positive was the same at 51 cases each.
Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing from Afya House, Aman said age wise, the youngest was a one -year-old infant while the oldest was 86 years old.
Nairobi continues to lead in the daily positivity rate, recording 41 cases in the last 24 hours.
Other counties with new cases include; Kitu 11, Kiambu seven, Mombasa six, Turkana four and Nyeri four.
Another 80 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 21,310.
A total of 30 of those discharged were from the home-based programme, while 50 were discharged from various health facilities.
The number of fatalities rose to 599 after another two patients succumbed to the virus.
