Kirinyaga County government suspends 65 striking doctors

Kirinyaga County government has initiated a process to sack all 65 striking doctors in the County.

According to Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi, the County government has suspended 65 striking doctors with 19 escaping the governor’s wrath.

Speaking to press at Kerugoya level five hospitals, the governor also revealed that the striking doctors will be issued with letters to showcase why they should not be dismissed in the next ten days.

The county boss said that those still striking will not receive salaries of the time they have been on strike. The 19 others escaped the governor’s axe after it was revealed that they have been undergoing post graduate examinations.

An overwhelmed governor accused doctors union of blackmailing the government and warned that they will have themselves to blame.

Accompanied by CEC in charge of health Wambu Miano the governor revealed that the county government is determined to go through with its threats to sack all striking doctors and warned them that those living in government houses should prepare to leave.
