Kenya on Friday recorded 723 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 20,636.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the new positives were drawn from the 8,679 people whose samples were tested within 24 hours.
This brings the country’s cumulative total tests to 303,959.
From the new cases, 700 were Kenyans while 23 were foreigners.
In terms of gender, 450 were male and 273 were female. Age-wise, the youngest was a nine-month-old infant while the oldest was 87 years old.
Speaking during the Covid-19 briefing in Nairobi, Kagwe said 44 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 8,165.
24 of those discharged were from the home-based program while 20 were discharged from various health facilities.
However, 16 more patients succumbed to the virus raising fatalities in the country to 341.
