Controversial businessman Paul Kobia who was arrested today morning for kidnapping a Congolese businessman has been released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000 by a Nairobi court pending investigations.
Kobia who is also Nairobi Senator aspirant was arraigned before Milimani senior Resident Magistrate Miriam Mugure together with his four bodyguards who were also released on similar cash bail terms each or a bond of Sh 200,000 after the court reject police application to continue detaining them for 14 days.
The magistrate denied the request saying investigations can be conducted while the suspects are out on bond.
Mugure also ordered asked the suspects to report to Kilimani police station on three days and further be directed by the investigators on how to be reporting pending the mention of the case on March 24.
Police alleges that Kobia abducted Congolese businessman Bachard Londole as he went to claim his Sh40 million from the victim, the money he had lent him in exchange for gold.
