Laikipia North Member of Parliament Mathew Lempurkel was yesterday grilled for hours over ongoing probe of Sosian ranch director Tristan Voorspuy killing.
The legislator was picked by detectives attached to Special Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU) next to Parliament Buildings and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
“The Member of Parliament is shedding light on some issues. It is a part of the investigation process,” a senior officer said. And shortly after his arrest, the MP released a statement accusing the government of unfairly targeting pastoralists.
The vocal MP was whisked away just before he got to Parliament to address a press conference on insecurity in Laikipia, two days after the rancher was killed.
