Leaders from West Pokot County have urged the government agencies to arrest and give life imprisonment to criminals wreaking havoc along the borders of West Pokot,Elgeyo Marakwet ,Baringo and Turkana counties.
The leaders asked the judiciary not to release bandits and suspects of criminal activities on bond.
They said that they will not allow one or two people to cause tension and animosity among the communities which have been living in peace.
The leaders asked security personnel working along the borders of the four counties to ensure culprits who engage in cattle rustling and other crimes are arrested and prosecuted.
Led by West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin and Pokot South member of parliament David Pkossing the leaders strongly condemned insecurity incidents happening in the area.
Speaking at Kapchemogen village, the leaders said law enforcement agencies should act on perpetrators of crime and ensure the offenders face life imprisonment.
Kachapin called on the security officers to arrest anyone committing crime.
Pokot South member of parliament David Pkossing defended Tiaty member of parliament Mr. Asman Kamama saying that he was not involved in the deaths of the politicians who were last week killed in Baringo County.
He called on the security forces to be proactive and beef up security to the maximum by making sure that no one kills another.
