A man whose private parts were mutilated by his wife for allegedly oversleeping says he is ready to forgive and welcome her back home.
Stephen Ochieng, 27, told a Mombasa court today that he wanted to withdraw the case against his wife Angel Mutuku.
Through state counsel Lydia Kagori the complainant informed Mombasa chief magistrate Julius Nangea that he loves his wife and he saw no need of punishing her.
Ochieng who was discharged from Bombu hospital on Tuesday after undergoing reconstructive surgery said he was recovering well and want his wife back at home.
Earlier on Monday, Mutuku had pleaded guilty to charges of assault and causing actual bodily harm and was to be sentenced today when husband appeared before court seeking to withdraw the matter.
The charges read that on February 16, 2017 at Magongo area in Changamwe, she unlawfully assaulted Ochieng thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
According to prosecution, the woman is alleged to have cut Ochieng’s private parts while he was asleep, allegedly after he overslept and ignored his marital duties.
