Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has appointed his Health chief officer Ojwang Lusi as the new acting County Secretary and head of public service board.
Lusi replaces the former county Secretary Humphrey Nakitari who resigned to contest for the Busia gubernatorial position in this year’s elections.
In a letter seen by the Informer signed by Hesbon Hongo, board secretary, stated that the appointment of Lusi to the position should take immediate effect.
The letter dated February 21 further stated all staff members are required to give Lusi the necessary cooperation and support to ensure there is maximum discipline and greater productivity.
Confirming the appointment, Lusi said he is equal to the task to deliver to the residents of Kisumu as the county secretary.
“I am ready to take over the challenging responsibilities,” he said.
Nakitare was seconded to the county government of Kisumu in 2013 by the Transitional Authority and was approved by Ranguma until he resigned to seek an elective position in the August polls.
Meanwhile, the county executive member for tourism and heritage Rose Kisia has also resigned from the position to vie for the area senatorial seat.
