A cyclist and his passenger died following an accident involving a private vehicle at South lake area of Naivasha.
The two flower farm workers were heading home when a driver of a saloon car hit them killing one on the spot near Kamere trading centre.
According to a witness Mary Wanjala, the driver sped off soon after the incident while the cyclist died on the spot.
Wanjala said the passenger was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed due to injuries.
“Accidents along this section of the road have now been the norm and we want police to mount road blocks and arrest errant drivers.
She said that the two middle aged men were well known in the society adding that they had left a big gap in their families who depended solely on them.
“We demand justice and the driver who caused the accident must be brought to book even as we look on ways to help the bereaved families”.
A senior police officer who declined to be named confirmed the incident saying the two bodies have been picked up and taken to the Naivasha county referral hospital mortuary.
He said that they were seeking the registration details of the car that caused the accident so as to nab the owner as part of investigations.
