Police in Embu are investigating an incident where the body parts of woman stuffed in a suit case was found dumped in Embu town early today.
Police say the body parts had several knife stabs on the neck and other parts and were wrapped in a gunny bag and well fitted in a suit case.
It was found dumped by the road side at Karurina estate, Muthatari area, Embu town at around 7am. Embu West OCPD Francis Sang said they suspect the woman, might have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the area since the wounds were still fresh and there was no evidence of blood at the scene.
The incident shocked residents who turned in their numbers after reports of the incident at around 7am with most of them accusing police of laxity.
“The body had also stabs on the wrist. She might have been killed elsewhere and dumbed here because the wounds were fresh and there was no evidence of blood or struggle at the scene. We have started investigations,” said Sang.
The body parts were removed to the Embu level 5 Hospital mortuary. Sang at the same time cautioned criminals in the area saying surveillance had been heightened to nab them.
