“The matter was reported at Maua Police Station. Clear picture on what transpired and goods obtained will be known after investigation is complete,” area’s Officer Commanding Police Division Jane Nyakiruma said.
Jama was intercepted at the international cargo center at 1:30pm on Sunday.
“Police in Maua have been looking for him over this matter but they were yet to apprehend him until he was intercepted at the airport,” a senior officer at the Kenya Airport Police Unit (KAPU) said.
However, it is not clear whether the multi-million goods in question have been sold but police said they have been hidden in a warehouse.
Our investigations established that by today, Jama was still being held at Meru Police Station and not Maua Police Station where the matter was reported and booked.
