Baringo governor Benjamin Cheboi has called for calm among his residents following Saturday’s murder of two Jubilee politicians from Tiaty constituency.
Speaking to the press at his official residence in Kabarnet town after hosting a group of electorates who paid him a courtesy call Sunday evening, Cheboi condemned the Saturday midnight cold blood murder of the duo by two hooded men armed with guns and a machete.
Cheboi who called for a quick investigation over the matter asked the residents never to create unnecessary disharmony by victimising any community as being responsible for the killings noting that the incident was an isolated case.
The deeply saddened Baringo governor noted that the deceased Member of County Assembly Fredrick Kibet Cheritei and Tiaty constituency Jubilee parliamentary aspirant Eng Kitambaa Pepee were promising politicians who were preparing to jostle with other aspirants in the April 2017 nomination exercise.
