The newly registered Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has announced it will support National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate in the August poll.
Party secretary general Dennis Kodhe and chairman Juma Wanyalikha said they had decided to support the yet to be announced Nasa presidential candidate but will field other candidates including governors, senators, Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly.
“After much consideration we have decided to throw our weight behind the Nasa. They have good aspirations,” said Kodhe.
In 2002, Cord leader Raila Odinga and other Kanu rebels, used LDP to form a coalition with the Opposition leaders Mwai Kibaki, Kijana Wamalwa and Charity Ngilu, giving birth to the National Rainbow Coalition which went on to win that year’s election.
