Deputy Inspector General Joel Kitili has reshuffled fifty one senior police commanders majorly those in operational duties and are required to report immediately to their new stations of work.
They include five Commissioners of Police, 22 Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), 16 Superintendent of Police (SP) and 7 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
Mandera County operations commander David Orina has been named Garissa County Police Commander while Stephen Kipchirchir Ngetich has been deployed to Wajir as the new county commander.
Ngetich is currently the deputy director junior training wing at Kiganjo Police Training College. Ngetich will succeed Samuel Mukindia who has been posted to Machakos County in the same capacity.
Silas Gichunge from the General Service Unit is now the deputy director in charge of community policing. “The following deployments have been approved to take place with immediate effect.”

And in a surprise move, Kilimani officer Commanding Police Division Peter Kipkorir kattam has been moved to Mumias to0 serve in the same capacity in contradiction to Inspector General Joseph Boinnet past directive that he will remain at his current station until the Kilimani Police Station upgrading project is over.

The Sh500 million redevelopment plan of Kilimani Police Station is expected to be completed by December 2018. Chinese Embassy is the lead financiers of the project alongside Nairobi County, Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa) and the Kilimani Project Foundation.
According to the circular, Julius Otieno, Isaac Justus Odumbe, Jospeh Siabira and Rizikin Mohamed have been named the new OCPDs for Kieni West, Wajir South, Marsabit Central and tana Delta respectively.
Gatanga Police Station deputy OCPD Monica wanjiru Kimani has been transferred to buruburu Police Station in Nairobi to serve in the same capacity.
