Three people arrested over the weekend at Eastleigh in connection with alleged register of voters for Mandera North constituency were today arraigned in a Nairobi court charged with the offence.
Ibrahim Ahmed Haji, Mohammed Ahmed Kanyari and Noordin Ahmed Kanyari who appeared before Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andayi faces charges of aiding the commission of an offence contrary to section 3 of election Act of 2016.
They are also accused of procuring Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission election materials which include voter transfer forms 83 copies of IDs, an original acknowledge slip and a note book filled with 500 names of voters from difference constituencies.
Haji alone is accused of preparing a document purporting it to be a register of voters .
The prosecution alleges that on or before February 11, 2017 at unknown place Haji prepared a register a black counter book containing names of persons, identification particulars and phones numbers of persons purporting to be a register of voters for Mandera North Constituency.
