United States of America (USA) trained accountant Amran Musungu has announced his intentions to vie for the presidency on a Maendeleo Democratic Party (MDP) ticket.
He made the announcement as he laid down a raft of reasons that have influenced his decision to vie.
Alongside top party officials, Musungu, 39, a former employee of KPMG accounting firm said that his quest is informed by what he termed as ‘bad and inept’ leadership from the current political class that have not taken into consideration the plight of Kenyan population.
“I want to lead a country that will offer better education, social welfare amenities, health and inclusiveness in governance. All these are lacking and I believe that Kenyans should join MDP in this journey to change and better life,” said Musungu at a briefing.
Musungu will launch his bid this week as chairman Joseph Amisi Omukanda called on all interested candidates to enlist with the party headquarters.
