A 21-year old girl has given birth to triplets at Maragua district hospital through cesarean section in her first time delivery.
The girl Martha Njoki who hails from Irembu village of Maragua constituency narrates the ordeal of what she felt once she was examined and found carrying triplets in her womb and she approached time of delivery the doctors strike marred the public hospitals.
Njoki says she is overjoyed having delivered 3 new-borns, two girls and a boy where a girl and boy were at average wait and the other girl was kept under incubator, saying she believes to get another set in future. The mother of triplets called upon the welwishers to help her raise the babies.
The Hospital Medical superitendent Dr. Stephen Ngigi said preliminary Ultra sounds carried on this young mother shown she was carrying twin pregnancy and when she was delivering thats the time other kid seen. Dr. Ngige confirmed that many women have been delivering in hospital hence low mortality rate.
The family doctor pleaded with striking doctors to go back to work as their talks continue, saying they should address emergency cases to save ailing Kenyans. Linet Kimuhu a nursing officer in the health facility encouraged mothers to breast fed their babies for the six months citing immunity administered.
