Angry youth on Tuesday pelted Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi’s convoy with stones when he visited Likoni accompanied by MP Mishi Mboko.
The young men feared the county government wanted to destroy their business and other structures built on road reserves in the area.
The leaders were in the area to assess a road site when the youth attacked their convoy.
The more than 30 youth smashed the windscreens of at least seven vehicles.
