Four people among them a middle aged woman have been confirmed dead at Tora Estate in Juja, Kiambu County following a clash between residents and herders from Kajiado County.
The woman – Jacinta Wangari Kibe; a mother of four – is said to have woken up as usual on Sunday morning to milk her cows and on her way to the cowshed, she noticed a herd of cattle grazing in her maize plantation.
She decided to confront five herders who were looking after the animals, and its then that one of them attacked her with an arrow.
Jacinta is said to have screamed for help and the neighbours came to her rescue, descending on the herders as some locals rushed her to Thika Level Five Hospital.
The five herders were thoroughly beaten by the residents before police from a nearby AP camp came to their rescue.
