Vihiga County political leaders have appealed to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula to work with Amani National Congress (ANC) leader for the sake of Luhya unity.
They warned that the constant bashing of Mudavadi by the Cord principal and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is spoiling the community’s chance of ascending to the presidency.
Led by Maragoli Central Member of Vihiga County Assembly Abdulla Chogo, they called on the Ford Kenya leaders to support the opposition bid of building the National Super Alliance (Nasa).
“With due respect, we are appealing to senator Moses Wetang’ula and Boni Khalwale to support the ANC party leader in building Nasa so that he can clinch the presidential ticket.
“Let them stop making reckless remarks against Mudavadi which may be used by our common enemy to derail Mudavadi’s ambitions,” warned Chogo.
They called on Wetang’ula to focus on strengthening Nasa in Bungoma where Jubilee has invaded.
Their sentiments were also echoed by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanyawho reiterated that Mudavadi should be respected as Luhya spokesman and preferred presidential candidate from Western region.
The leaders also welcomed the move by Mudavadi for appointing former Chereng’anyi MP Kipruto arap Kirwa as the deputy party leader.
They said the move will help strengthen the party in the country and make it have national image.
“We welcome the move made by out ANC party leader for appointing Kipruto arap Kirwa as deputy party leader. This will help strengthen the party and give it hogo.
