Health officials in Embu County are on high alert after three new cholera infection cases were reported in the area today.
This brings the number of cholera infection cases in the County to 53 in the past one and a half months, with three people dying of the disease.
County Director of Health Dr. Stephen Kaniaru said the three are from Rwika, Kabuguri and Garira village in Mbeere South Sub County and they contacted the disease after eating hotels whose hygienic standards is questionable.
He said the three are receiving medical attention at various cholera treatment centres in Kiritiri, Ganduri and Embu Level 5 Hospital.
