The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Eacc) is on the verge of unearthing a multimillion fraud syndicate of youthful and clandestine individuals defrauding potential investors posing as investment consultants in collusion with senior ministry officials.
In a blow by blow damning petition, the well executed shrewd and fraudulent schemes target potential foreign businessmen seeking to invest in the country in what later turns out to be a massive extortion plot.
Among those on the spotlight include a former parliamentary aspirant from Emgwen constituency who lost in the August polls while his other co-conspirators are believed to have relative proximity to power and influence.
Also, of interest is a key senior official in the Energy Ministry who accommodated the defrauded and aggrieved party after being flown using chattered flights to a political rally and thereafter spending in a three star hotel.
