M-Pesa services will be unavailable from 12.30 am to 4.30 am on Sunday for an upgrade, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has said.
In a statement on Friday, Collymore said due consideration consideration was taken in choosing the times to prevent inconveniences.
“We expect all services to be restored and M-Pesa to be fully functional following the process,” he said.
On June 30, Safaricom announced the disruption of the mobile money transfer service for a changeover to a new platform.
This was the first major upgrade since the system was transferred to Kenya in 2015.
The upgrade will lead to an increase in partners offering their services on the platform. A new Application Programme Interface will simplify the process of integration into M-Pesa.
