The Kisii Senator Chris Obure who recently defected to Jubilee party will have to face the Kisii county deputy governor Joash Maangi in the Jubilee nominations for gubernatorial race.
Maangi who endorsed Obure for the position has now made a decision to take him head on dividing supporters in the middle. Maangi who was yesterday fronted with a number of MCAs supporting his candidature in Kisii sports club said that he has worked a lot to sell Jubilee in Gusii land and he cannot afford to support Obure who will lose in the coming ballot.
Maangi said that the Jubilee party has attracted many people and now all posts of governor, senator, women rep and MCAs have attracted the only way to make it popular is to go for nominations.
The ODM rebel who vowed to work with JP giving the ODM displinary committee a back said he will soon name a running mate in the seat that has attracted five candidates now.
The deputy president William Ruto’s friend said that his friendship with the national government has seen a lot of development daring his competitors to tell residents what they have done to Kisii while they have been in office.
Masimba member of county assembly Joash Orora who read the group of members of county assembly from Kisii county resolutions said that team supports the decision to have all aspirants go for nomination.
For many senator Obure was seen as a sole gubernatorial candidate and Charles Nyachae for senator. The group had endorsed the two in previous events including Maangi himself.
