Kenya union of post of primary education teachers (KUPPET) does not support any political wing between Jubilee and National super alliance (NASA) but will only work with the administration elected into power after the August 8 general election, Secretary General Akelo Misori has said.
Misori said unlike their counterparts in KNUT who have publicly showed their affiliation to Raila led NASA group, it had not entered into any pact with any of the two political coalitions to guarantee their support during this election. He, however, said its members had every right to support any political party of presidential candidate of their choice without any undue influence.
Speaking in Bomet on Saturday during the union’s Annual general meeting, the official said as a union they have their interests which it wants addressed but such he said will be only sought after the poll under the ruling administration.
Present were National assembly deputy speaker Joyce Laboso, executive secretaries Paul Kimetto (Bomet), Charles Ngeno (Narok) among other officials from the other counties. Misori said inasmuch as it supports the pledge of a free primary education in the country by the two leading political parties once elected to power it questions the its practicality.
