A man found cohabiting with a neighbors wife was slashed to death in Tangi Tano village in Naivasha before the suspect handed himself to the police.
The husband armed with a machete attacked 30 year old man after he found him red-handed in his matrimonial bed with the wife on Tuesday night.
Shock and anxiety gripped the residents as police moved in to collect the semi-naked body and transfer it to Naivasha sub-county hospital mortuary.
A neighbour, Willis Ng’etich, said the suspect who is a husband to several wives is only able to visit them on different dates of the month.
He added that the deceased took advantage of the man’s absenteeism to camp in his homestead before the proverbial 40 days ended.
“The man of the house was tipped off by neighbours and he set a trap and found the couple in the act and slashed the suspect to death,” he said.
Naivasha sub-county assistant commissioner Joseph Opondo confirmed the incident adding that the suspect and the wife were in custody.
He said the suspect had confided in police that he had laid an ambush after learning that his wife had an affair with the young man.
“The body has since been collected and police have embarked on their investigations following the midnight incident in Tangi Tano area,” he said on phone.
Meanwhile, parents of the neighboring Ngondi primary school are now seeking divine attention after cases of students screaming and fainting in the institution continued.
For the third day running, students continued to complain that they were been attacked by evil spirits a vice that has adversely affected learning.
A parent Jecinta Nyambura noted that though the number of affected students had dropped, fresh cases were being reported in daily basis.
“We are now seeking divine intervention over the new wave of attacks targeting girls as the frequency have now risen sharply,” she said.
The assistant county-commissioner attributed the attack to hysteria adding that prayers conducted by various religious leaders had worked
“It’s true that on different days the students have gone into hysteria claiming that they are under attack by demons and this can be resolved through counseling and prayers,” said Opondo.
