Undercover police on patrol killed three armed gangsters in two separate botched robbery attempts in Dandora and Capitol Hill areas in Nairobi.
In the first incident, three gangsters among them a lady were ambushed by police while robbing pedestrians at gun-point at Barrack Mowlem.
They defied police orders to surrender and instead opened fire against the officers.
Consequently, a shootout ensued and two of them, both middle aged men were shot dead but the woman escaped.
A Revolver Pistol serial number 3102527 loaded with four bullets of 38mm caliber and two knives were recovered.
In a separate incident, a suspected robber was shot dead near Capitol Hill in Nairobi’s Upperhill area.
The slain suspect and his accomplice at large were confronted while accosting a pedestrian when one of the fired at the officers on patrol.
And in Kibera, a man is recuperating in hospital after he was attacked with a chisel on his forehead by a burglar who broke into his house and stole a phone.
The victim was taking a shower on Tuesday evening in a makeshift bathroom outside his house when he saw the attacker peeping through his door.
When he confronted the burglar, he was stabbed on the forehead. However, the attacker was lynched by members of the public responding to a distress call.
