President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday postponed his two day tour of Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties to an unspecified date.
Instead, the President is now expected to tour Western region later in the week.
The head of state was scheduled to have started his visit to Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties yesterday but a statement by Communications Secretary and State house spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said the tour had been indifinitely postponed.
According to Esipisu the president is expected to tour Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega counties.
“A detailed programme will be issued in due course,” Esipisu’s statement stated.
No reasons were given for the president’s postponement of his visit to Mt Kenya region, an area perceived to be one of his strongholds.
