National Assembly Budget Committee chairman Mutava Musyimi has said that the members of parliament will not increase funds to county governments as asked by the governors.
Mutava said the governors have failed to effectively utilize the current budgetary allocation they get from the national government and thus asking for more will not be practical at all.
He said that the county bosses have failed in their developmental mandate and instead are using the funds they get to live lavishly and extravagantly using public resources at the expense of their electorates who are crying because of lack of development.

The budget chairman said his committee will not approve the additional 23 billion that governors are asking and will at the same time lobby the national assembly to disapprove that motion.

The Mbeere south legislature noted with disappointment that most governors have misguided priorities citing examples of choppers that governors are using at the expense of public funds.
