Chief Justice David Maraga has appealed to the National Assembly to “unconditionally give the Judiciary more funds” for expeditious decentralisation of additional judicial services.
The CJ the Judiciary needs to take of Court of Appeal and High loser to the citizens.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the Annual Second Legislative Summit in Mombasa Maraga said so far they have decentralised the High Court services to 38 counties with nine more to go.
He also said already the Court of Appeal is besides Nairobi in Malindi, Nyeri and Kisumu, adding that as soon as funds the Judiciary will complete the decentralisation process.
The Supreme Court President urged the Parliament to stop withholding funds “to punish the Judiciary and the CJ” saying by doing so they will be punishing the wananchi who need the services instead.
