Zambian authorities on Friday dismissed reports that the country’s newly-appointed envoy to Tanzanian has been rejected.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Public Relations Officer Chansa Kabwela said the alleged appointment of a diplomat to Tanzania and subsequent rejection was not true.

“The Ministry wishes to inform members of the public that the government has not made any such appointment and is not in receipt of a letter of rejection from its sisterly neighboring country,” she said in a release.

“Members of the public are advised to dismiss the article circulating on social media and other platforms with the contempt it deserves,” she added.

She further said the matter has been referred to security wings for appropriate investigations.
