Embu senator Lenny Kivuti has launched door to door voter registration exercise that is targeting to register over 210,000 new voters in Embu County.
The drive that is spearheaded by over 10,000 clerks will reach four sub counties in the next two week.
Speaking in Embu town when he was flagging off the clerks and four pickups that will be used in the exercise Kivuti said each polling station in the county will have 15 clerks who will assist in mobilizing and reaching out to those who have not registered as a voter.
He said each clerk has a target of registering at least 20 new voters.
Kivuti who is also vying for Embu gubernatorial seat with Jubilee party comes August proposed to county mothers not to give super to their sons and daughters who have attained 18 years yet they have no voting cards.
He said he was following President Uhuru Kenyatta directive where all elected leaders were urged to spear head the exercise in their counties ready for coming general election.
Former Manyatta Member of Parliament Emilio Kathuri who is Kivutis running mate urged Embu county residents to register in a big number in order to get a chance to exercise their democracy voting in the leaders that want.
