One person is recuperating at Maralal referral hospital with severe gunshot on chest after armed bandits believed to be from Baringo invaded Marti village and shot dead five people and fled away with over 800 herds of cattle.
The fight is still ongoing in the verge of Marti as residents try recover the stolen livestock.
Meanwhile two other casualties are expected for treatment in the hospital within the course of the day.
Doctor Nato in charge of Maralal referral hospital confirmed the incident of the injured patient under his management saying that, “It was a round 2.00 am when we received a patient from Marti with severe injury being inflicted with gunshot on the chest; we tried all our best to stop his severe bleeding and he seems to be in stable condition at the moment.
“We are yet to receive other two patients with minor injuries for treatment from Marti,” he said.
