The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has shortlisted 27,214 teachers to be interviewed for 10,000 vacancies.
The candidates who applied for the positions in September last year will fill positions in Job Group K, M and N.
“The shortlisted candidates include primary schools head teachers and deputies serving in Job Group G and H who have acquired a Bachelor of Education degree,” said a statement from the commission’s Head of Communication Kihumba Kamotho.
Others are teachers, deputies and head teachers in Job Group L who will be interviewed for promotion to Job Group M, he said.
On the other hand, teachers, head teachers, principals, curriculum support officers, Educational Assessment Resource Centre (EARC) officers and lecturers serving in Job Group M will be interviewed for posts in Job Group N.
Interview dates and venues will be communicated to the teachers by respective TSC County Directors.
“The list of shortlisted candidates has been published on the TSC website www.tsc.go.ke.
The recruitment is in line with the hiring policy launched in 2015 after the commission stopped promoting teachers based on the number of years in service.
