The proposed Kenya Anglican University in Embu will receive a grant of Sh60.8 billion from the US based Global Trade and Finance Company for infrastructure development.
The organisation’s President and chief executive Kon Lee said the the money will be availed in a span of two years. She said Sh30.8 million, to be dispensed as soon as administrative formalities are finalised, will be spent on construction of a world class modeled internal design of the university infrastructure.
The remaining Sh30 billion, she said, will be used to develop external facilities of the multi-faceted campus. What now remains, according to Lee, is to fine tune leading detail designs, exhaust economic feasibility structures and formalise the signing of the necessary finance documentations to pave way for disbursement.
She added that the entire process, leading to the implementation matrix is underway and implementation stage will take about three years
