Property worth millions of shillings was reduced to ashes following a fire outbreak in two separate incidents in Naivasha.
In the first incident, more than 140 boys from DN Handa Secondary School in the lake side town were forced to sleep in the open after a fire gutted down their dormitory.
Most of their properties were destroyed although no one was injured as the students were reportedly in class when the incident broke.
A resident Joseph Otieno said huge smoke was seen bellowing from the rear side of the dormitory.
He said that the students alerted the police who arrived quickly and efforts to put it off bore fruits when it was contained.
“We thank the fire department of the county government for their quick response and we able to contain the fire before it could spread to other areas”
A senior police officer who did not want to be named confirmed the incidence saying they had launched investigations.
