Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko yesterday displayed his Sh1000 monthly payslip he has been earning for the past four years.
Sonko whose nomination papers were accepted by Head of Jubilee Secretariat Raphael Tuju said he channelled his salary towards development, his rescue team and serving the needy in the city.
“From my payslip you can see I earn Sh1000 monthly and I will continue to help the people of Nairobi once elected “said the Senator.
At the same time, the Senator said he will disband his Sonko rescue team if he is elected governor so he can use the county funds to solve Nairobi problems.
Also cleared for the gubernatorial party primaries were Dennis Waweru and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. Sonko explained the predicament he went through before submitting the nomination papers.
“A senior government officials had tried to lock me out from beating today’s deadline by delaying the issuance of certificate of good conduct,” said the flamboyant legislator.
For instance i applied for a good conduct two weeks ago together with bishop Wanjiru and she got hers an hour later but i got mine yesterday I don’t know what delayed it,” he says.
