Millicent Kithinji, the host of 44 children arrested over the weekend at a house party in Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate, was on Monday 23 detained for seven days pending probe completion alongside her accomplices.
Milimani senior principal magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot directed the suspects to be held until Monday next week following an application by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), as police complete investigations.
“The teenagers were involved in ‘making’ pornography and were abusing drugs in the presence of Ms Kithinji and Morenga. Mr. Wambu and George Muthoni, business- men within the Mountain View area, were involved in the supply of drugs and alcohol to the teenagers,” Corporal Julius Oguma of Dagoretti DCI office said.
The corporal added that police recovered condoms and empty bottles of assorted drinks and bhang from Ms Kithinji’s compound.
Mr Oguma said that it is suspected that there are people who benefit from the pornographic images taken from such events and that the event organisers lure teenagers through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp.
In an affidavit, corporal Julius Oguma said they needed more time to identify the culprits who will help them unravel the syndicate that might be benefiting from such material.
