On Saturday 14th of November, early hours in the morning a sixteen- year- old girl, Shanice Ndunge Muoka along with other 16- year- old girls were lured out of their homes under the pretence of being cast for an audition.
According to a video made on 19th Thursday by Shanice’s cousin, the devastating incident happened in Komarock, Nairobi and the seven girls have not been seen ever since.
The cousin believes that these girls are being sex traficked.
Shanice was last in contact with a caucasian man whose contact is an American number (+17896663236). The cousin and her family have tried to contact the number but it did not go through.
The family is working diligently with the Kenyan police to find the people who have kidnapped those seven 16- year- old girls.
According to a report last year, the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children showed that Kenya was ranked 17 out of 19 on the list of countries where child kidnapping is rampant. Eight million children go missing annually which translates to nearly 22,000 children every day around the world.
Parents are constantly advised to keep checking on the whereabouts of their children even when in the hands of people they entrust with their care during their absence.
The cousin has asked people from the video to share Shanice’s photos and if anyone sees her to call out her name to see if she will respond and contact the police.
