Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has defended his development record saying he had performed exceptionally well, a few days after he was accused by President Uhuru Kenyatta of riding on national government projects.
The governor said he had initiated development projects across the county despite meager allocation from the national treasury.
While addressing members of the public in Gongoni, in Magarini sub-county, Kingi said he has never claimed ownership of any national government project.
The governor who together with his Mombasa counterpart have been a critic of the Jubilee government accused the national government at crippling and frustrating devolution by refusing to give the county more funds for development.
