Police in Eldoret have arrested a teacher for allegedly defiling three school children in Kapsaos village, Chepkoilel Sub location of Uasin Gishu County.
Angry residents yesterday, led by the area village elder John Mwangi stormed the house of the suspected sex pest after the minors informed the elders that the man had been repeatedly defiling them in a maize plantation.
Mwangi said although the man was not found in the act, the children aged between 12 to 16 years positively identified the man after he was paraded before the irate villagers who were baying for his blood.
Mr Mwangi said they had earlier warned the man to stop an affair with minors when the report of his conducts reached them. He said the children revealed that the latest incident involved a 12 year old class 5 girl of Cheptebo primary school where the teacher has been teaching pupils.
The elder said the man had been hired by parents as a volunteer teacher at Cheptebo primary school and he had been elevated to head the school. The teacher is said to have been teaching class one to five pupils in the school.
He taught Social studies, Maths, Kiswahili and religious studies. Drama unfolded in the village when angry residents frog-matched the man a few metres from his house before chaining his hand with a rope as other caned him.
Police who were called immediately arrived to the scene and picked the man with the three children alleged to have been defiled by the suspect.
According to the suspect Willy Kiprop, he admitted to have been having an affair with a 16 year old form two girl and two other minors who had been smiling as villagers took disciplinary action against the man by caning him on the rumps.
