Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary and Kirinyaga governorship aspirant Anne Waiguru has finally presented her nomination papers to Jubilee secretariat as political aspirants gear up for party nominations.
In a responding letter, Jubilee Programmes Department acknowledged receiving Waiguru’s papers which include copies of her identification card, certificate of good conduct, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) self-declaration form, certified copies of academic documents, payment receipts and two passport size photos.
“This is to confirm that we are in receipt of your nominations papers. We shall communicate to you the date for the nomination,” read a statement from the department.
The nod from Jubilee secretariat clears Waiguru to continue with her campaigns as she prepares to face off with the incumbent Joseph Ndathi and other aspirants in the nominations.
Waiguru has upped her campaign in the county, promising to roll out extensive development projects that would better the living conditions of the people if elected governor.
In an interview on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live last Wednesday, political analyst Barrack Muluka and lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi spoke up Waiguru’s chances of winning the Kirinyaga governorship seat in the August 2017 General Election.
Abdullahi stated that Waiguru’s win will be as a result of her well-oiled campaign and her connection with the people on the ground.
On Sunday, the former Cabinet Secretary and her running mate Peter Ndambiri attended a Sunday service at St Luke’s ACK Church before joining the Akorino congregants for a praise and worship session at Waiguru stadium.
