More details have emerged on the five-hour-long meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, at State House, on Monday.
As prospected by curious Kenyans, the meeting was a tongue-lashing session, with Ruto being put on the hot seat, over his incessant acts of rebellion against the President and his initiatives, specifically, the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Reports from State House indicated that the head of state also demanded an explanation for Ruto’s laxity, in the wake of rampant indiscipline by politicians subscribed to his Tangatanga faction.

But the DP who hard no words to counter-attack the president demands of explanation was astonished and was told to put an end his abominable tanga tanga allies.
In his defense, Ruto lamented that ODM leader Raila Odinga had brought about confusion in government, seeing as to how he had been exercising questionable powers, despite not having an official government position, since his handshake with Uhuru in 2018. Furthermore the president demanded from his deputy to show respect the handshake between him and the former prime minister.
Further, the deputy head of state expressed concern over the genuineness of the BBI, noting that it seemed the ODM Party had twisted its original motive, to suit Raila’s political aspirations.
The meeting between the two leaders came at a time when the ruling Jubilee Party seemed to be falling apart, with Uhuru and Ruto evidently not seeing eye to eye.
The DP especially appeared conflicted over the past weeks, demonstrating a fence-sitting approach to the BBI, as opposed to his previous full-blown disapproval of the initiative back in 2019.
On Jan. 21, Ruto’s allies announced a decision to join Raila as he took the BBI message across the country, but less than a week later, the same faction indicated that they would proceed with their plan to hold parallel rallies to those of the former prime minister.
The first of such meetings was slated for February 8, at the Afraha Grounds in Nakuru and which reports come later that Governor of Nakuru Lee Maiyani Kinyanjui stipulate that no tanga tanga should step foot on Nakuru with the aim of holding rallies specially BBI.
