County commissioners across the country have been asked to confiscate and arrest all those who are operating gambling machines in the village shopping centers.
Betting Control and Licensing Board Chairman Simon Chelugui said that a memo has been issued to all Commissioners to ensure that these machines in the village are done away with.
Chelugui termed the slot gambling machines as illegal and thus the need for cannibalising and those operating the machines be arrested.
He said that the betting agency has banned the use of the machines due to increasing concerns across the country where non licensed operators are conducting the business.
The chairman said that only licensed gaming operators who pay tax will be allowed to operate due to widespread concerns over the proliferation of sub-standard slot machines.
He said that the board would confiscate any of the illegal slotting machines being operated by unlicensed operators in unapproved premises.
He noted that public places must be inspected by the board before the licenses are issued to the owners after they comply with provisions of standards, security safeguards and responsible gaming.
