Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has dismissed reports that he has been transferred to the volatile Rift Valley region and warned drug barons that the war on narcotic is not over.
Marwa said those wishing to have him transferred were criminals or people linked to drugs trade.
He said that no form of intimidation against him or against the local security agents will stop the ongoing war against drugs.
Rumours have been going round social media that Marwa, who has been engaged in war of words with Mombasa governor Hassan Joho for a long time had been moved.
Marwa has put drug barons on notice saying no form of intimidation against him or against the local security agents will stop the ongoing war against drugs.
Without mentioning names, Marwa indicated that Drug Barons have persistently attempted to fire back by issuing wanton intimidations against officers.
He said the government will continue disrupting the hard drugs market at the coast by clipping both the supplies and demands of the outlawed stuff noting that those attempting to frustrate the efforts through intimidation are ‘wasting their time.’
“The war on drugs is gonna be won no matter the intimidation… anybody intimidating police officers is wasting his time. Marwa is not someone to be intimidated with petty sideshows,” he said.
The regional boss also said all assets belonging to barons and their relatives will be confiscated by the government as they were proceeds of crime.
