The City County Government has set mechanisms in place to convert Luthuli Avenue into one way street to improve safety, mobility and accessibility.
The County Minister for Environment Ms.Veska Kangogo said that the transformation is in line with the New Urban Agenda, the Sustainable Goals (SDGs) and H.E Governor Sonko’s Manifesto of changing the face of the city to attract investments and support business.
Speaking to the business community on Luthuli Avenue, the County Environment boss said,” the Avenue will be partially closed effective Saturday 18th May, 2019 to pave way for roads works.
The Minister, accompanied by his counterpart in the sector of Roads, Infrastructure and Transport Mr.Hitan Majevdia urged the public to give the project total support to ensure of its completion as stipulated.
The County Chief Officer Roads, Engineer Sammy Muthama, Incharge , Urban Design Ms. Adung’o Vivian and Communication Director Govenor’s Press Service Mr. Elkana Jacob were among other senior county officers accompanying the Minister.
The County Government has invited stakeholders to the Stakeholder’s Validation Workshop on Friday, 17th May, 2019 at Charter Hall, City Hall starting 8.00 am.
